Markets, staking, money management and where sports money actually goes

Sports betting, read as a market. A price is a probability with a margin added, and the whole craft is working out how big the margin is and whether anything you know is worth more than that. The pages here take the margin apart first, because every staking method and every tipping service implicitly claims to beat it.

Parlays get their own page for a reason: multiplying four prices together multiplies four margins together too, which is why the payout looks spectacular and the chance of collecting does not. Record-keeping gets its own page for the opposite reason — it is the one practice here that costs nothing and changes what you can actually know about your own results.

No byline, on purpose. Material here is signed by the desk and not by an invented person: if you see a name on a page, it belongs to someone quoted or to the author of a document, never to a persona we made up to look like a staff of ten.

Each number has an owner. Revenue lines, tax shares, licence numbers and dates are copied from the filing, report or operator page that holds them, and the sentence using a figure says where it came from. Where the source has no figure, this site leaves the sentence out instead of estimating one.

Mistakes get fixed in place. Point one out at [email protected]: the wrong line is rewritten on the page you read it on, with the old wording quoted underneath, so the change is visible rather than quietly swallowed.
