About this desk
Who publishes this site, what it writes about, how it is paid for, and what it has to do with the 2018 ballot committee whose name it carries.
This site is a small independent desk writing about gambling money: the arithmetic of odds and payouts, the mechanics of deposits, bonuses and withdrawals, the licensing paperwork behind an account, and the places where all of that touches Arkansas. It is a reference site, not a review site. It does not rank operators, it does not run an affiliate shop front, and no page on it is an offer to gamble.
What this is not
It is not the ballot committee. The domain was registered and used by the campaign for the 2018 Arkansas casino amendment, and the pages that campaign published are still here — the amendment text as filed, three promise pages dated 19 March 2015, the petition-signing locations and the video page. They are kept at their original addresses with their original wording, marked as the 2018 archive, and they are the campaign’s words, not ours. This desk is not connected to that committee, is not funded by it and does not speak for it. There is a separate page about the name because the overlap is genuinely confusing.
How the work is done
Three rules do most of the work. A number is printed only when a document we can point at carries it; where the document is missing, the number is missing too rather than estimated. Arithmetic is shown rather than asserted, with its inputs stated, so a reader can change an input and get a different answer. And a regulator or a licence is named only where it actually has jurisdiction over the case being described.
The sections are listed in full on the section index. Material published here in other languages stays in its own language at its own address and is listed on the international page.
Money
Some pages in the archive were published as paid placements, and some of those carry outbound links. They are left exactly as they were published, because rewriting a disclosed placement after the fact is worse than keeping it: the reader can see what was paid for. New editorial pages are not sold, and the longer version of all of this is on the editorial policy page.
Corrections and contact
Corrections are published on the page that was wrong, with the date, rather than quietly edited in. If a page here is wrong, or a link on it is broken, write to the address on the contact page and name the page.
No byline, on purpose. Material here is signed by the desk and not by an invented person: if you see a name on a page, it belongs to someone quoted or to the author of a document, never to a persona we made up to look like a staff of ten.
Each number has an owner. Revenue lines, tax shares, licence numbers and dates are copied from the filing, report or operator page that holds them, and the sentence using a figure says where it came from. Where the source has no figure, this site leaves the sentence out instead of estimating one.
Mistakes get fixed in place. Point one out at [email protected]: the wrong line is rewritten on the page you read it on, with the old wording quoted underneath, so the change is visible rather than quietly swallowed.
