Policy

Sources, numbers, arithmetic, named regulators, paid placements, corrections and the things this desk will not publish.

Sources and numbers

A figure is published only with a document behind it that a reader can reach: a regulator’s register or decision, an operator’s own published terms, a filing, or a dataset. Where the document is missing, the field is left out. We do not round an uncertain number into a confident one, and we do not carry a number from a secondary article without finding what it was quoting.

Arithmetic

Where a page computes something — the cost of a house edge over an hour, the implied probability of a parlay, the real value of a cashback offer — the inputs are stated next to the result and the operation is named. Our arithmetic is not a forecast of anybody’s session: it describes the long-run average of the stated inputs, and it says so.

Regulators and licences

A regulator is named only where it has jurisdiction over the case being described. We do not decorate a page about one market with the logos or the initials of authorities from another, and we do not describe a licence as current unless the register still lists it that way.

Authorship

Pages are published under the desk rather than under invented bylines. Earlier versions of a few pages on this site carried author lines and reviewer credits that described people and experience we cannot stand behind; those lines have been removed and the fact is recorded. If a named person writes here in future, the name will be a real one.

Paid placements

Material in the archive that was published as a paid placement keeps its text and its links exactly as published, and the markup marks it. We do not retro-edit a disclosed placement into editorial copy, and we do not add new commercial links into old editorial pages. Nothing on this site is an offer to gamble and no page sells a gambling product.

Corrections

A correction is published on the page that carried the error, with the date and what changed, and it stays there. Silent edits are for typography only: spelling, punctuation, broken markup, a dead link unwrapped into plain text.

What this desk does not publish

No rankings or “top” lists of operators. No bonus codes. No tips, picks or predictions. No system that claims to beat a negative expectation, except on a page explaining why it cannot. No page addressed to anyone under 21, which is the age the 2018 amendment in this site’s own archive set for casino gaming in Arkansas.

No byline, on purpose. Material here is signed by the desk and not by an invented person: if you see a name on a page, it belongs to someone quoted or to the author of a document, never to a persona we made up to look like a staff of ten.

Each number has an owner. Revenue lines, tax shares, licence numbers and dates are copied from the filing, report or operator page that holds them, and the sentence using a figure says where it came from. Where the source has no figure, this site leaves the sentence out instead of estimating one.

Mistakes get fixed in place. Point one out at [email protected]: the wrong line is rewritten on the page you read it on, with the old wording quoted underneath, so the change is visible rather than quietly swallowed.
