What this list is
To put an amendment on the Arkansas ballot a committee has to collect signatures in person, which means it has to tell people where its clipboards will be. This page is that schedule, exactly as the campaign published it, and it is the most concrete document in this archive: not an argument, just addresses.
Read it as a map of where a petition drive believed it would find Arkansans in a signing mood. Three kinds of place do all the work. County and civic buildings — a courthouse in Benton, public libraries in Little Rock, Jonesboro and Bentonville. Liquor stores, five of them, in Maumelle, Cabot twice, Morrilton and Harrisburg; a petition about casino gaming and a package store share a customer. And weekend crowds: five farmers’ markets across Bentonville, Rogers, Fayetteville, Springdale and Little Rock’s Hillcrest, plus the amphitheatre concerts and a food festival in Bentonville.
The venue names and towns are the campaign’s own, and the dates it printed are day-and-month only, without a year. We have not added a year to them and we have not checked which businesses still trade under these names. Today’s version of this subject — rooms, charity casino nights and the places that gambling money actually reaches — is in Venues & Events.
No byline, on purpose. Material here is signed by the desk and not by an invented person: if you see a name on a page, it belongs to someone quoted or to the author of a document, never to a persona we made up to look like a staff of ten.
Each number has an owner. Revenue lines, tax shares, licence numbers and dates are copied from the filing, report or operator page that holds them, and the sentence using a figure says where it came from. Where the source has no figure, this site leaves the sentence out instead of estimating one.
Mistakes get fixed in place. Point one out at [email protected]: the wrong line is rewritten on the page you read it on, with the old wording quoted underneath, so the change is visible rather than quietly swallowed.
